We are delighted to share the news that our Artistic Director Kevin Spacey is to receive an honorary KBE (Knighthood) for services to theatre, arts education and international culture, which will be publicly announced in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list tomorrow.
This is in recognition of Kevin’s outstanding contribution and achievements during his time at The Old Vic, which has of course been supported by you, our audiences.
On learning of his award, Kevin Spacey said, "I am honoured and humbled by such recognition from the Queen. I must thank the British public for being so supportive of my efforts on behalf of The Old Vic. I feel like an adopted son."
All at The Old Vic add our congratulations to Kevin on this richly deserved honour and echo his thanks to all of our audiences and creative teams who have supported his tenure as our Artistic Director.
