О дождях в Мордоре ничего не говорится. А вот этот кадр хорошо походит к следующей сцене (по Кистямуру): "Раскаты грома отдалились, но дождь хлестал пуще прежнего. Хоббиты заползли в ущелье и схоронились под каменным навесом, правда, не очень-то это им помогло" (кн. 4, гл. 1). А Горлум идет за ними по пятам. Последний взгляд перед первой встречей.

Читал сегодня статью о новой серии Topps карточек по TTT готовящихся к выходу и нашел подтверждение, что действительно официальным цветом ROTK-мерчандайза будет темно-синий, соответственно почти со стопроцентной увечностью можно говорить, что DVD ROTK SEE будет в голубом boxset-е и коробка обычного DVD тоже будет голубой. Да, кстати уже известно, что в качестве бонусного пятого диска для giftset-а ROTK будет диск от National Geographic – ROTK Beyond the Movie, который будет выглядеть примерно вот так:

Такс, Ден Хенна (art director фильма) недавно серьезно наспойлерил. Такого мы еще не слышали. Оказывается Теодред не умер сам, а был отравлен Гримой! И это покажут в SEE.

Пишут, что в режиссерской версии будет больше смешных моментов, в частности М & П в Айзенгарде, дорвавшиеся до еды, травы и прочих удовольствий.
А вот этого спойлера я не встречала:
При распитии энтийского питья Мерри с Пиппином не поделили кружку и в результате упали, причем дерево их начинает затягивать корнями, а Древень их спасает a la Бомбадил.
...Не выдержал ПиДжей, очевидно, стoнов по Бомбадилу. :)

И превратил его в Древня :D

Yes... it's true. Matt and I yesterday attended an all-day, marathon screening of New Line's forthcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - Special Extended DVD Edition, which streets on November 18th. And let me tell you... you're going to be blown away.

This extended edition includes more than 43 minutes of new scenes and footage, added by director Peter Jackson just for this DVD release. As with the Fellowship extended cut, these new moments add tremendous depth and development to certain characters, give a greater sense of epic scope to the journey, provide wonderful new moments of humor and greatly enhance the intensity of the major battle scenes. Here's a detailed rundown of the new footage you can expect to see on this DVD:

A new opening scene, after Gandalf's fall in Moria, in which we see Sam and Frodo climbing down a rocky crevasse using the Elven rope (the title The Two Towers now appears at the start of this scene).

Sam and Frodo getting rained on in the mountains as Gollum watches from a cliff above them.

Gollum's good and bad selves fighting over whether or not to lead Sam and Frodo to Mordor.

The Orcs arguing about their orders, and Pippen asking them to give a wounded Merry some water.

More of Saruman the White overseeing the construction of his Orc army, including his ordering the destruction of Fangorn Forest to fuel his furnaces, as well as the Wildmen pledging allegiance to him.

More of the villages of Rohan being plundered by the Wildmen.

Éomer finding a mortally-wounded Théodred at the scene of a great battle with Saruman's Orcs.

More of Gríma Wormtongue banishing Éomer from Rohan.

A major new flashback scene in which we see Boromir and Faramir after reclaiming Osgiliath for Gondor. We learn that their father, Denethor, disapproves of Faramir. Denethor tells Boromir about a meeting that's been called by Elrond in Rivendell. Denethor suspects that the Ring has been found. He sends Boromir to the meeting, with instructions to bring the Ring back to Gondor to save their people.

Aragorn and Éowyn talking before the battle of Helm's Deep. Éowyn says she wants to fight at his side, and basically admits that she loves him.

More of the Ent council in the woods - it's already night, but the Ents have only just finished saying "Good morning" to each other.

Much more intense footage during the battle at Helm's Deep.

The trees of Fangorn Forest marching to Helm's Deep, to get revenge on the Orcs.

The Orcs fleeing Helm's Deep, only to be swallowed up by the trees which have blocked their escape.

A very funny moment between Legolas and Gimli in which they brag to each other about the number of Orcs they've each killed in the battle. The result? A tie (sort of).

Merry and Pippin discovering a pantry filled with food after the battle at Isengard.

And finally, Faramir leading Frodo and Sam out of Osgiliath. Sam tells Faramir that he's finally shown his quality - the very best. Faramir threatens Gollum as to what will happen if the Hobbits come to harm. As they depart for Mordor, Sam is kind to Gollum for the first time, telling him that Frodo only meant to save him by letting Faramir's men take him prisoner.

So that's a rundown of all the new footage. As far as the bonus discs, we only stayed to watch Disc Three. But what we saw included incredibly in-depth documentaries on J.R.R. Tolkien's development of the story of The Two Towers, in the context of The Lord of the Rings as a whole, how the filmmakers struggled to adapt this second book and the changes they had to make in order for the story to work on-screen, and the incredible efforts of actor Andy Serkis, the team of special effects artists at Weta Digital and the writers to bring the character of Gollum to life. You might think you know how much work was involved in creating the first digital character to give a realistic dramatic performance on film, but it was even tougher than you can imagine.

Matt and I really had a blast watching this new cut of the film and some of the extra features on the upcoming DVD release. Believe me when I say that this 4-disc set promises to be another absolute home-run for [b]Rings fans. It's definitely one of the must-have DVD releases of 2003, along with Indiana Jones and the upcoming Alien Quadrilogy. Watch for our in-depth review of Two Towers in the next couple of weeks.

Занятно. Выходит, Боромир с самого начала собирался отнести Кольцо в Гондор, и никуда более? Значит, это не Кольцо его постепенно совратило за время похода?
Кто-то там говорил о перевранном образе Фарамира........

Не понимаю, в чем проблема. По книге Денетор догадался о Кольце, и потом утверждал, что Боромир принес бы Кольцо ему. Таким образом, неизвестно, были у него инструкции или нет, но ничего не переврано.

Вась, давай-ка возьмем цитату (ты же ее приведешь, верное?) и обсудим ее.
Я лично вижу, что Боромир пал сам, а не Денетор его заставил это сделать.

По смыслу неясно, была ли между ними договоренность, и почему использовано сослагательное наклонение, если бы Боромир самостоятельно завладел Кольцом, или если бы он завладел им по приказу отца и дошел бы до Минас-Тирита. По-моему, вполне естественный вариант - второй.

Нет, простите. Эдак вся токиновская концепция совращения Кольцом с последующим падением и раскаянием Боромира полностью теряется.

РВ, ты ошибаешься. Раскаяние Боромира - это джексоновская концепция. :D

В оригинале "I am sorry", т.е., "я сожалею".
О чем он сожалеет - не до конца ясно. Возможно о том, что сознательно планировал завладеть Кольцом с самого начала, несмотря на планы похода.

Ну уж нет. Я где-то у Толкина читал (искать цитату?), что Боромир раскаялся перед смертью и искупил свою вину.

Хорошо, допустим, он раскаялся. Как это связано с тем, посылал его Денетор за Кольцом или нет?

Ну да, он расскаялся и вину искупил. Но Денетор-то не знал, что он раскаялся. Он наверняка думал, что Боромир - послушный сын, и поступит так, как выгодно для Гондора (в данном случае, для Денетора).

Стоп. Боромир вполне мог раскаяться перед лицом смерти, но это ничего не говорит нам о том, принес бы Боромир Кольцо отцу (хоть Гэндальф считал, что нет), и, главное, давал ли ему Денетор такое поручение!

И послал Денетор Боромира... И сказал он ему: "Иди туда, не знаю куда, принеси то, не знаю что" :)
Судя по сцене Совета в книге, Боромир не знал, что проклятье Исильдура из пророчества - именно Кольцо. Родитель, похоже, не давал сыну конкретных указаний :)

Это было искусное притворство! ;)
Не, на самом деле папаша, конечно, обо всем догадался, и мог сказать Боромиру, чтобы тот принес ему это "Проклятье Исилдура"

Денетор знал, что Боромир раскаялся - ему сказал об этом Гэндальф:
‘Comfort yourself!’ said Gandalf. ‘In no case would Boromir have brought it to you. He is dead, and died well; may he sleep in peace!

А про то, что Боромир искупил вину, Гэндальф говорит Арагорну, Гимли и Леголасу в главе "The White Rider":
'You have not said all that you know or guess, Aragorn my friend,' he said quietly. 'Poor Boromir! I could not see what happened to him. It was a sore trial for such a man: a warrior, and a lord of men. Galadriel told me that he was in peril. But he escaped in the end. I am glad. It was not in vain that the young hobbits came with us, if only for Boromir's sake.

Мне кажется, тут дело даже не в том, что Денетор посылает Боромира принести Кольцо в Гондор - это, в конце концов, только усугубило бы его душевные терзания, потому что он боролся бы не только и не столько с собственным искушением, но и с волей отца - как Фарамир в фильме. Проблема еще и в том, что получается, что Денетор понял пророчество и знал о Кольце заранее, в то время как в книге Боромир явно удивлен и поражен тем, что видит на Совете, и дальше думает только сам.

Я боюсь одного - боюсь, что Денетор, как и Саруман, окажется "плохим парнем". Просто злобным и алчным пожирателем помидоров (см. спойлерный тред по ROTK). Боромир, Фарамир и Голлум в фильме конечно, показывают, что зло и добро не просто черно-белые, но Денетор и Саруман для этого тоже необходимы.

Not that I have made even this issue quite so simple: there are Saruman, and Denethor, and Boromir; and there are treacheries and strife even among the Orcs.
