Кстати, читал вот только что книгу "The art of the Fellowship of the Ring" и наткнулся на замечательное объяснение того, какое именно значение придавал Джексон сцене с пещерным троллем. Его можно приводить всем, кто удивляется, почему нельзя было ограничиться уколом в лапу и для чего добавили эту "тупую голливудщину":
Peter described to the Weta team how he wanted the cave-troll to look. "Like an innocent child - only ten feet tall!", was his affectionate description... "You're drawn to feel empathy for him by the time he finally dies, because the righteous Fellowship have to deal extreme death, extreme punishment to save the quest. I like to think that you're drawn to be a little bit reflective about the fact that they have had to do that".
