"In its blind desire to get Frodo and the Ring, which it could feel pushing at its dim intelligence, the cave-troll grabbed a discarded Dwarven spear from the floor of the Chamber of Mazarbul and used it to stab Frodo. Down the length of the spear's haft on alternating sides was writen in Khuzdul, the language of the Dwarves:
Tarag-udrig Rakhas-udrig
Troll-bane Orc-bane
Little is known of the Dwarven language but it can be seen that the word 'Tarag' is very close to the Sindarin, 'torog' so it seems fair to assume that one begat the other. Trolls were evidently a menace to both races."
